Journal 1
When given a task to conduct our own report, what’s come up in my mind is whether I’m able to make a research that needs my full-commitment. I even had difficulty about choosing the topic which requires an approval by my lecturer, Sir Ahmad. I confessed that every time during R&P class, I will feel quite afraid and nervous because at that time I cannot think of a good topic and I’m wondering what I’m going to explain when Sir Ahmad asked about the topic that I wanted to choose. After changing about 2 times for the topic, lastly I have come out with a topic that quite suitable for me and easy to be conduct. According to Sir Ahmad, just take a topic which is easy and comfortable with. Therefore, there is no need to choose topic which is complicated and a topic which we already know the problem and answer. Thus, Sir Ahmad advice becomes my guidance in choosing a topic for the research.
Journal 2
After choosing a topic, we are now given exposure to make draft for questionnaire. We need to make a questionnaire and therefore, I always consult with Sir Ahmad about the question. Next thing on the research is when we have to make the real questionnaire, as it will be answer by people. To make sure the question is relevant; a pilot test is conduct among member in the class. I give my questionnaire to one of my friend and therefore she gives a comment to improve my questionnaire, so I will able to notice the mistake on my questionnaire. In addition, it helping a lot in improving my questionnaire and realize whether the respondent will also understand the entire questionnaire. Then, all of us also need to create our interview question for our intended person.
Journal 3
After finishing all the material for interview and questionnaire, it’s to conduct the research, in order to gain people respond over the issue. Thus, I had distributed my questionnaires towards the student of Shahputra College. Then, during the mid-semester break I used that time to conduct an interview with the library management in my hometown, Ipoh. I should say this is the parts that really test my patient in encounter with people. It is because when I went to Tun Razak Public Library, I ask for their permission to make an interview with the head director of the library. However, the head director is in leave for holiday. When I’m asking whether I could interview the library officer, they rudely asking me cynical question that only raise my anger. They even didn’t ask for my phone number, in case their head director is back from holiday and wanted to make another appointment with me. I really upset and embarrassed with the management of Tun Razak Public library and the staff totally annoyed me with their rude speaking. Although I already said that this interview for educational purpose with permission letter as an evidence, they seem didn’t care on my research project. Due to my determination to finish what I had begun, I ask my cousin to bring me at other library in Ipoh. After that, she brings me to Ipoh Public Library, which I know about the existence on that same day. The treatment that I receive here, is totally contrast with the previous one. The staff is really humble and co-operative. Even the library is more comfortable and advance compared to the first library that I visit. At last, I able to complete the interview session with one of the library officer that give full-commitment over the reading habit issue.
Journal 4
Later, we had come to the hardest part which is data collection. At first, I just put the task aside because the due dates are not coming yet. Then, Sir Ahmad wanted to check the progress of our report and at that time I immediately calculate all the answer that I gain by the questionnaire. I’m not really good with figure and numbering, therefore I had to calculate each answer and put the answer accordingly to their category in table. In addition, I can know what the respondent think on reading habit and it’s quite interesting to see their comment and how they rate book on their preferences. I also notice by the questionnaire, that even male respondent like to read romance book. Before this, I thought only female interested with this kind of book. After the data collection finished, we are now focusing in preparing the report itself.


Journal 5
Before I write the actual report, Sir Ahmad had already taught us on how to make the report and also to organize it accordingly in order. Then, almost everyday we went to library to finish the report, under the inspection of Sir Ahmad. We also need to show the progress of our report and if there’s something that we don’t understand, we could ask it with Sir Ahmad. Sir Ahmad will explain briefly if we didn’t understand about the report. Sample that contained in the text book also useful for the report and many examples are given there. Although, it quite tired to bring the laptop to library every time we had class, it’s really give benefit because we just have to put all the answer in laptop and didn’t have to worry about the draft.
Journal 6
When I already focus in my report, Sir Ahmad brings news that we need to make the presentation on report. At that time, I’m utterly shocked because my report still didn’t finished and even other class still didn’t start the report yet. According to Sir Ahmad, there will be two session for individual presentation on the report. Immediately, I choose the second session because the presentation will not be too early or too late. Therefore, I still in the shocked condition and by watching other people presentation I become quite afraid because I’m afraid that I cannot done as successful as them. In addition, I use their presentation as a reference, in term of information that I wanted to include in the presentation. Luckily, on the day the presentation of my report gone accordingly and smoothly. It just my nervousness, that sometimes make me misspelled certain words. I try my best to give the best presentation and in the end I able to complete this task. When my friends from other class ask about the presentation, I said that I already finished it earlier. Somehow, they feel quite unsatisfied because they are not doing the presentation yet. In addition, I feel quite relief because I had finished the presentation ad can now focus back in report. Luckily, Sir Ahmad asks us for the presentation to be earlier, or I also will be rushing on it.


JOURNAL 7
As the third session presenter present on their topic, it also means that our class become to an end. However, we still need to submit our final report complete with appendix and transcript. I have to thanks a lot to Sir Ahmad because he always gives a lecture in making a good report. He also didn’t mind to teach us although we are not in a lecture hour. Therefore, with his guidance, the work becomes a lot of easier. When I attend to his class, I’m not in a stressful condition and quite relax because of his lecture style that is simple and always make jokes for us. My friend in the class also gives a full support whenever I met with difficulty or trouble in the report especially Noor and Sya, as the three of us will always be together. The most important thing is I have built my confidence with people during the research and the moment is really precious in my life. Overall, research and project had given a lot of lesson and teach me to be a patient person and also concern on the time management.
